If I were you I would ignore the advise by "J" who tells you to forget the rear window blanket. That's fine, if you want a big crease in your plastic window. The few seconds it takes to put the blanket on is well worth it if you care how your rear window looks. And as far as the boot goes, is your time that valuble that an extra minute to snap four simple snaps that much of a problem? I think most folks love being with their car so much that this is really a moot point.

had my top down for the first time today...65 degrees in boston area..... beautiful. i thought the top was easy to operate, although the automatic top isn't so automatic, considering that i had to strap the window blanket on, unlatch the top, put the top down, then put the boot on. i had listened to people here talk about the boot and that they got frustrated, gave up and got the aftermarket soft boot. i figured they were exaggerating. nope..... they were right on. i have owned at least 7 different convertibles and this is by far the worst boot i have ever struggled with. maybe it's just stiff and will get easier, but the back snaps are hard to snap and unsnap. and the whole process takes way too long. how can a car so well designed have such a poorly designed boot? don't they test market these things? my wife's 323i's top folds neatly and automatically into a recepticle and the hard cover closes on it, all in 20 seconds. should i join the soft boot club? $279 seems like a lot of money. any advice would be appreciated.

thanks
