I am interested in purchasing a used Z3. I started auto-x last season in my 1995 318 and thought the z3 would be more fun. I am trying to decide between the 4 or 6 cylinder. Even though the 6 would be faster, the 4 is more in my price range. Can anyone offer comments? Is it worth spending more for the 6 cylider or is the 4 cylinder just as good? (isn't it lighter?).

The Miata is killer competition against the 4Cyl Z3. If you do it, focus on improving your skills more than trying to upgrade the car. While it's easier to buy upgrades (shocks/struts, etc), it's more rewarding to work on improving your skill.
