I'm seriously considering a 2-seater convertible for my next car. Probably about 6-9 months out. Boxster S is just a little out of my range. MR-2 Spyder, well... a friend has one, and I'm just not thrilled with it. Benz SLK seems a tad underpowered still, and I'm in California, so the Vette is out for gas mileage reasons.

I've been driving Hondas for 10 years, but am actually leaning towards the Z3/3.0i in Dakar Yellow. Equipped as I like, it's only $3k more than the Honda. However, I have yet to drive either one, and comparing their numbers they are nearly identical in every way. Does the argument come down to simple aesthetics?

So which is the better car, in your opinion... and why? I'm sure you all have thoughts on this, judging from the number of times the word 'S2000' appears on this board.

Not trying to troll, just trying to make an informed decision.

In all fairness the S2000 has a powerful 4 cyl engine. It will fly if you hold it down and keep it there. Its an exciting car.Its cheaper too. I have grown to love BMWs after having 6 BMWs . There is something about a BMW . I think the body style is nicer. And the cars are close to being the same as far as performance goes. I thnk you will get alot more compliments with the BMW. I bought 5 Honda Civics ( kids) none of them has ever had a problem so I know the S2000 is a good car but A Dakar 3 liter is my choice. I wish I had bought a 98 M Roadster in 98.
