I'm seriously considering a 2-seater convertible for my next car. Probably about 6-9 months out. Boxster S is just a little out of my range. MR-2 Spyder, well... a friend has one, and I'm just not thrilled with it. Benz SLK seems a tad underpowered still, and I'm in California, so the Vette is out for gas mileage reasons.

I've been driving Hondas for 10 years, but am actually leaning towards the Z3/3.0i in Dakar Yellow. Equipped as I like, it's only $3k more than the Honda. However, I have yet to drive either one, and comparing their numbers they are nearly identical in every way. Does the argument come down to simple aesthetics?

So which is the better car, in your opinion... and why? I'm sure you all have thoughts on this, judging from the number of times the word 'S2000' appears on this board.

Not trying to troll, just trying to make an informed decision.

I've driven both. If it is a daily driver the BMW does have the better interior (i.e. more storage space and leather). Bothe have plastic windows both have boots. The shifter in the Honda is very smooth BMW shifter just the right amount on feel in the gates not rough but you willhave to drive it. BMW great engine lots of lowend torque in the 3.0 not as much as the M but lots. Look into the insurance costs...I think the BMW will be less to insure because of the driveaway protection. The engine's Honda high revving lots of noise at criuse speeds. You really have to put your foot in it to make it go. On the other hand it is easy to drive slow when you want to.

You are already 1/2 way to having a great car there are no bad choices but if you have had Hondas in the past you are probably ready for a change. Go to the dealer and drive them both try to rent for a day or two if you can. Go online shopping for mods for both cars lots of info on what can be done and/or what you may want to do to the car you choose.

Good luck with your car shopping:)
