Well I guess I can agree with Vidterry on that one. Why do you have an M Roadster if you never speed? Thats the one thing I like about Vidterry. He always gets on those lame people who never drive thier car. I saw a post by a guy who had a 98 m roadster that only had 5000 miles on it. NOW unless the guy was in the hospital for the last three years I cant think of anything more offensive than a post like that. Or a post like I never speed in my M roadster. Well give it to me cause I wont drive it like a ford focus. Hell I never go below the speed limit in my 2000 2.3. I dont think I could if I wanted to the car seems to go about 70 without even touching the pedal.

Scott:

I started reading and occasionally posting on this board back in '97.
Back then the major gripe I had was that it was not technical, with most posts asking others opinions about color combinations. But, hey if that's what they want to post about, I'm not going to hassel them.
Then it got semi-technical which was cool, then it slowly got worse. Eventually much worse.
I made the mistake of expanding on one of Vidterry's 'tongue in cheek' "we all speed and here's how we rationalize it" posts. I added to his list of rationalizations, and referred to speeders as 'closet criminals'.
So he accused me (personally) of not having fully read his post, and worse yet, having repeated part of what he posted.
He said he speeds all the time, and everyone does. I listed the vehicles I had that would easily exceed the speed limit, he alleged I was belittling his financial status by my post (no comparisons were made or alluded to), and said with the list of cars/motorcycles I had I was a hypocrit and a liar, because I stated I didn't speed, yet I owned high performance vehicles. Somehow he knew this by simply reading my post, since we've never met or comunnicated outside of this board. I was amazed at how hostile he was.
But, those were just minor personal attacks. So I just stopped posting. So to some extent, Vid just got some of his own medicine with the recent, unjustified attacks on him.
His approach of abandoning the board is correct, but his reach for martyrdom by stating his reasons for leaving is just an attempt at getting attention, which will just get him more of the harrassment he is trying to avoid.
I agree, the contributors to this board are rapidly eliminating any reason to read it, let alone post on it.
But by skimming the post titles you can spot most of the trash posts and not read them. And, more importantly, by NOT RESPONDING to the hostile, meaningless drivel you eliminate any motive for further posts of that kind. After all, they are just trying to get attention, so by ignoring them they are left with no incentive to post.
