Well, after looking at all the BMW's I ended up with a slightly used, don't have to worry about the first scratch or chip because it is there already, 2001 3.0 Z3. I am very happy with my decision to go with the Z3 and as a third car it fits in perfectly with our Honda Odyssey and the 84 528e. There were a few very minor things that the dealer is taking care of and I have put a small list together for other items I have found. I wasn't sure on one of them so I thought I would ask other new Z3 owners. When driving at night do your air conditioning and recirc buttons light up with the low amber light or are they dark and only light up when you activate them? I think they are supposed to light up like the rest of the buttons, but I could be wrong.

Let me know.

By the by...if anyone cares...it is a Tit Silver with black ext leather and all options except the computer. I got the auto because of my long commutes and it was the only way I could get it past the wife...but I don't regret it on my bay area highways.

Congats on your new car. I have a 2000 Tit Silver also and the air conditioning and recirculation do not light until you activate them.

Thank you for your reply.
