The car was running fine. It was doing well on 5 psi with 89 octane and octane boost on the MechTech ECU. I wanted to bump up the boost so I went with water injection in addition. On 8 psi it doesn't ping but runs lean. So it's time to play with the fuel needs.
The reason I said was running is because it is down now waiting for the headwork to be finished. I am tempted to have the combustion chambers slightly worked to lower the compression ratio. Anyways, I will be playing with a Bell Engineering adjustable fuel pressure regulator to try to get a little more fuel on boost and I am switching to 270 cc injectors. Also looking at a intake temp signal modification under boost.

The reason I am considering a Haltech is because of all the band aids I am using. Matt the "HITman" is coming from Australia this week and I am positive he can do the job right it I wanted to go that route.

I have not played with the Z3 in a while because I have been busy modifying and racing my RX-7.

The MechTech does give huge amounts of low in torque. If I could just carry that torque a little further up the rev range. Some of the problem maybe that the turbo just doesn't flow very well at higher boost or rev levels.

I am very happy with the system. The only thing I would recommend is buying better hoses and a better boost gauge. The ones that come with the kit sucks. Also a better intake elbow. The accordian rubber elbow ruptures under pressure. AA has a nice one on their turbo systems. How much is the AA turbos for the OBD II systems? I would recommend both the MechTech system and the AA's system just from reputation.
