I also have an 00 MZ and it does use a lot of oil compared to any other car I've ever owned. Just yesterday I started to worry that maybe something was wrong. The engine sounds fine and runs really strong, however, and I haven't noticed any unusual smoke. In fact, the more I use it the better it seems to run and sound. I have about 3,500 miles on it.

Any advice on this issue, recommended oils, etc., appreciated.
