New and proud owner of '98 Boston Green 1.9. Just switched out the stock 3" rear speakers for the Infinity 452i 4". Left rear now does not work at all. Switched the speakers, but absolutly no sound whatsoever. Believe the problem has to be somewhere in the wiring, though don't know what I could have done wrong.

Having just replace my rear speakers and added an HK subwoofer, I think I can help you. The wires come from the trunk to the driver's side seatbelt tower and then down into the carpeting. There is a connector for each rear speaker in the carpeting behind the seats in the center. These wires have the proper colors as the ones from the amp harness. They are plugged into another set of wires of various colors that plug into the speakers. You may have dislodged the secondary connector. You must look in the sub enclosure for the connectors and determine if they are live or if you have pulled one out accidentally.

Thanks Harvster, I figured there was a connector somewhere just didn't know where to look. My '98 doesn't have a sub though. Any idea how to get to the connector? I appreciate your help.

Keith, you'll probably have to remove the storage tray between the seatbelt towers to check the wiring. This isn't hard to do, but there are a "lot" of screws. Getting the top hinges back on has always been the challenging part for me - a magnetized screwdriver is very helpful. This link should help! By the way, welcome to the 1.9er community!
