It all depends on what you want. Looks? new wheels will definately give you that. Performance, new wheels will also give you that as well, as long as you dont go past 17" into 18" territory. 17's are a nice compromise between cost, handling improvement and comfort.

I have 17x8 BBS RKs shod with yokohama AVS Sports 224/45ZR17 on my 1.9.

If you plan on going up to 17", find and buy the lightest biggest set of wheels, other wise your car will suffer from accerleration problems. Additional rotating weight over the weight of the stock wheel set will slow the car down. Much more weight to turn.

My 17x8s weigh in at approx 17lbs ea., which is right on par weight wise (w/o tire)with the stock wheel.

Compared to stock, there is no loss in acceleration and handling is improved tremendously.

Bought the RKs shod with tires for approx. $1800 from the tire rack.
