if I get carried away and press down too hard on the blade, it will 'mar' the wax slightly...sort of like a scrape or something. Only wax deep, though, and easily dealt with...particularly since I am likely to be rewaxing right then anyway.

When I first started using the blade, I couldn't help thinking that I was supposed to supply some of the force/momentum of the blade...and that would occasional drag on the wax. Force is just not necessary with that blade; weight of the unit alone is sufficient to squeegee off the water.

I can't really imagine any way that paint could actually get scratched...or damaged in any other way. The other observation would be that I would never have the blade in an attitude that would leave VERTICAL marks of any kind. When squeegeeing off the quarter panels, or doors, the blade is always parallel to the ground...so if there were going to be any marks at all, they should be horizontal. NEVER had any problems on side surfaces...it was on hood and trunk lid that I initially used pressure.
