The shift knob came off? Mine did, too, on my M Roadster. And it came off on every run after that.

The problem is that the little black plastic fingers that fit into the circle cut into the shift lever break off. Typically just one breaks off - this is not an uncommon problem. Just look at it the next time it comes off.

If it is broken (or even if it just keeps coming off) your dealer will fix it, under warranty if you don't have too many miles.


How do you keep from going too far into the red with limiter removed? I know I get too excited when I'm running cause when I shifted once today the knob came off in my hand! Talk about screwing up the run.
