Friday transmission failed in my 98 1.9 automatic just outside of Cherokee. 20 hrs. later BMWNA finally found a tow service that would come and get me.

Home now, but 300 miles from there.

Was hoping to find someone to look at the back of the car before I go back and get it. There was trans fluid all over the back of the car and don't know if it is caustic to the paint.

I don't expect it to be repaired before thursday of this week and I'm sure they will do a good job. Just hate to drive that far to pick it up and find something that wasn't done correctly.

And yes, the sight of Fletcher BMW kinda takes you back a few years. But so far they are an OK bunch of folks. No rentals available in the area so they did "find" a nice loaner to get me home.

Don't need anything right now and may be able to find a CCA member in the area to check out the trans before I go and get it.
