Supercharge 2000M, or buy 2001M? (archive)

I’ve been considering a supercharger for my 2000 M for some time now. It seems to do it right with a quality product like Dinan, installation and warranty, I’ll be spending about $10K, I’m guessing for not much more I can get myself into a 2001 M. 315 normally aspirated horse power may not be much as a Dinan, but it’s close.

A local dealer was willing to order a unit in for me with no deposit or obligation, I guess he figures he should have no trouble selling it if I don’t go for it.

Any idea on what I would get for my Estoril blue 2000 M. It has 12k miles on it, close to perfect condition.
