when the revised rear end came out back in 99 for y2k's the board had lots of heated discussion, 95% very good good natured ribbing, with basically the ones that were buying/had bought the new body style prefering it, and those with the older body style perfering that. I never saw the 1.9 vs 2.8/M discussion but I heard many with 1.9's preferred the original "narrow" butt. Basically, people "preferred" the one they owned....quite predictable.
