to repaint FRONT bumper cover -- in my neck of the woods, by BMW body shop -- was just over $400. The painting is really a three step process, plus the flex agent needed on this composite material to prevent peeling etc. That cost includes a lifetime guarantee against any developing defects in the paint.

I would think that the rear bumper would probably not be substantially different...just about the same amount of man hours necessary.

If you try a private car paint shop, make sure it is a good one, and one that uses BMW spec paint; it is water based, and dramatically different than the paint on most cars. (And if they leave out the flex agent, a world of hurt awaits.)
