Ya know.. the first Fixit Day was Paint Chip Fixing Day at Rory's House:
http://mz3.net/articles/133.html

That's where I got the idea...
Here in the NE we don't have much in the way of huge driveways with carports, and the paint repair folks generally go to the dealers. So we *needed* a dealership to have a Fixit Day.

You mentioned that your dealership already has Saturday hours (picture me banging my head on the steering wheel)

No wonder they don't want to do a Fixit Day...

imho the things to do is change Fixit Day for the circumstances....

you also have different needs there- where we have to switch over from winter wheels and tires you have ... I dunno...
but you get the idea... something that everyone wants done, to make it something that the vendors will see an advantage to having all the cars in one place. The Xpel installers for instance (those headlight/foglight covers are a no brainer)call the folks at www.xpel.com, they'll get you an installer... they are portable and the spray paint guys are absolutely mobile. (There's a link to their national site here somewhere... ) they can hook you up with a local franchise... and the same for paintless dent repair- if all else fails www.dentwizard.com...

You get the idea.

If you have some kind of donation thing going, maybe a volunteeer fire company or other venue will wnat to be involved.

Here's the advice I got from the three people I asked before running a Fixit Day
- UNDERSELL- don't promise everyone they will have miracles performed... better everyone be happily surprised than possibly disappointed

Then work with what you got. You might be able to get a local detailer to do a demo... also ask your friendly Z3 folks like Z3 Solution, LeatherZ, HMS Motorsport if they want to participate by discounting or supplying prizes..... and there will be all sorts of local Z3ers offering to contribute their skills, how to install, or how they did something they'd like to show off.

What I noticed is that at every Z3 event, drive whatever... you can't get Z3ers out of the parking lot. They will obsess over their car... and everyone elses!

Remember- UNDERSELL Make no promises
