I've read here that BMW didn't bother to test/quote different numbers for the E36 M3 engine when they put it in the M Roadster & Coupe, and justed quoted the 240 HP which a typical E36 M3 has in the M Roaster/Coupe brochure. This despite the fact that the Roadster & Coupe have a less restrictive dual exhaust that should increase HP over the M3 (although it's quoted in brochures at 240 HP my engine tested out on a dyno at 260+, which seems consistent with results others have gotten for Roadsters & Coupes). I've also read that the E46 engine has been detuned for the Roadster & Coupe, and know that the quoted HP is less, suggesting that 315 (or whatever it is) is the real HP number. Any thoughts?
