...If you look close at the pix you will see that the bottom DOES stick out farther, in addition it's slightly twisted, and the leather is creased underneath. It has a break across the bottom, under the seatbelt. The retainer is held in place by 2 metal compression washers. The retainer is not anchored to the seat frame in any way. The mount for the retainer rests on top of the seat foam. If it isn't fixed in time, the stress from pulling on the seatbelt will damage the hides, with the result being that the seat cover will have to be replaced as well. My seatcover had to be replaced because of this very problem. ....but that's part of the design to be able to slip the seatbelt in there. Although mine didn't bend out that far like in the picture.
