I'm not anticipating winning anything either. I haven't even started cleaning/washing/waxing, and probably won't until the day before (I'm out of town).

But it'll be something new to experience. That counts for something.

BTW, a friend and I (I don't want to incriminate him) have come up with a secondary contest. Neither of us have ever done this before. So we've decided that the person that gets closest to 2/3 of the total available points without going over wins a giant bag of Doritos and a 6-pack. Don't get me wrong - we're both going to do everything we can in the time that we have to win the glass. But the Dorito championship trophy is also pretty alluring.

My one question for those more experienced folks regards the 2/3 number. Is ANYONE going to get lower than 98% of the total points? You know how the Olypnics get judged ... everyone gets 9.9s and 9.8s and if someone gets a 9.75, it's a horrible blow. Nobody gets a 6.0 unless they throw sweaty undergarments at the judges.

So ... are we both going to go over the 2/3 value with reasonably clean cars? Should we shoot for 80%? 90%? We're talking a whole bag of Doritos here .. this ain't kids stuff.

Anyway, I'll be there, and if anyone wants to enter Dorito challenge 2001, let me know.

And to my fellow competitor (you know who you are), we're still shooting for 2/3 unless someone provides a compelling argument for another number.
