Trunk light switch is a trigger for the security system. Dome light switchis not. Three chirps can be the hood, radio or trunk. The triggers work by grounding the switch, so jumping is not good. So you either have a malfunctioning hood switch, you changed the stock radio, or you broke a wire in the trunk harness, near the hindge.
