Hard-top....a difference????? (archive)

Just a quick question. Is there a huge difference in stability/stiffness/handling/anything with a hardtop vs. regular soft-top? Z3 or M Roadster. I know that it's not going to get anywhere near M-Coupe stiff, but any comments would be appreciated.
