No problems since. It seems strange that they would blame the alternator, when (I thought) everyone knows that BMW has a battery problem from the factory? Or at least I thought everyone knew that? It's well documented in the archives here and BMW service centers should know this. Tell them (don't ask, tell) to replace your battery, and I'll bet you'll be fine.

My 6 month old 3.0 has been having electrical problems. About 2 weeks ago it would not start. My local BMW service center (Las Vegas) said it was a bad alternator; so they replaced it under warranty. Yesterday it would not start again. I really doubt I would get two bad alternators. Has any of you folks had similar problems. Otherwise car has been perfect.
