Not to depress you, but I thought I did it very carefully, very thouroughly, and still the paint peeled up. I did not, however, use the Griots, I used Behr, which had good reputation in this area. I think Shawn F. had the a similar experience with peeling of the finish. Of course I live in Minnesota where the winters are harsh, the salt everywhere, and the freeze/thaw cycle deadly.

My best advice is rinse the Muriatic TWICE AS MUCH as they say to in the instructions. If you think your floor has even a hint of a whitish haze when it dries after the acid step, rinse it again. Acid residue is the biggest killer to good adhesion. Does the Griots process have a primer step (after acid, before epoxy)?

I let mine cure almost two weeks, and did not have the initial peeling problems that I remeber Shawn reporting, but man the winter really ate into the finish where the tires went across the floor.

Good luck!! Let us know how it works out!

.... from Griot's Garage yesterday. Has anyone used it? Griot's faxed me a 5-page installation manual before I bought. Not a simple process. I ordered 4 gallons at ~$55/gallon. Light Gray. Hard to believe 1 gallon only covers 130 sq. feet with 2 coats.

I assume muriatic acid will kill all plant life it touches, yes?

Obviously this is a do it once, do it right, and don't do it again job. The plan is to get the 2 required coats down before I leave for HC so the floor has about 17 days to cure before The Car arrives.

Next steps: dedicated circuit breaker for garage accessories and 1200 watts of flourscent lighting.
