In Reply to: Ordered Garage Floor Paint... posted by JonM on August 09, 2001 at 10:33:56:

I've hestiate with this project for the last 3-4 years, because I don't know of any case where someone used a expoxy based paint where they didn't have tire pickup; however, I do here that the stain based version can't lift because the concrete absorbs the stain.

.... from Griot's Garage yesterday. Has anyone used it? Griot's faxed me a 5-page installation manual before I bought. Not a simple process. I ordered 4 gallons at ~$55/gallon. Light Gray. Hard to believe 1 gallon only covers 130 sq. feet with 2 coats.

I assume muriatic acid will kill all plant life it touches, yes?

Obviously this is a do it once, do it right, and don't do it again job. The plan is to get the 2 required coats down before I leave for HC so the floor has about 17 days to cure before The Car arrives.

Next steps: dedicated circuit breaker for garage accessories and 1200 watts of flourscent lighting.
