The swap's been suggested by Robert Leidy (of MZ3.net), and I have offered to act as SwapMeister. If you wish to participate, here are the rules you need to understand and abide by:

1) First and foremost, you should support the artists on whatever CDs you receive. If you can afford a Z3, you can buy some CDs. No ifs, ands, or buts. Artists should receive compensation for their efforts (percentages and or profit margins are the matter for another debate, which can discuss elsewhere).

2) The simplest of the rules is: You contribute one CD, you may select one CD from the "pool". More are acceptable, but at least one is required. Personally, I plan on contributing three.

3) I will be managing two official swap times, poolside at the Marriott, on Friday and Saturday Evenings, after the night's events are over. I expect that to be approximately 10 PM to midnight.

4) I will accept CDs at other times, but that is dependent upon my proximity to the collection (ie, please don't expect to trade if I'm about to go on the plant tour). No phone calls, etc. after midnight!

5) If you are composing a CD, please provide an appropriate cover/jacket/jewel case. Please include a track and artist listing, so that people may comply with Rule #1. If you wish to "hide" your tracklist, please include it but you may hide it so that it's not initially visible (ie, fold it inwards in the case).

6) There IS no rule six!

7) No offensive material, please. Hopefully you can be the judge of what's offensive or not, but language that would garner an NC-17 is strongly recommended against.

8) I will have a master list of every CD submitted, so that I can later publish a list of who got whose CD. As you submit a CD, I'll ask you to fill in your name, email address, and, if you wish, you may include a brief description of the style of your CD (ie, POP, Rock, Techno, etc.)

9) I will use that list to show who received CDs, so if you wish to put yours in early and choose one later, that will be allowed.

10) I will allow re-trades, but be fair about it.

11) Trading will end Saturday night.

Any questions, please let me know.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
