I have a 35mm Canon Rebel 2000 that I'm bringing to HC, but I've been wanting a digital video camera for ages.. Now is the time. HC '01 on Video.

Does anyone have a recommendation? I've seen quite a few lately in the $499-$799 range. I don't think I want Digital 8(don't know why though). Want to stick with DV or mini-DV.

Any info appreciated. Especially thing features to look for, cameras to avoid..
