In virtually all cases, the engine fault light is indicating a pollution control failure of some kind. This should not be related to the Conforti software, but since uninstalling is as simple as installing, there is no reason to give a service tech any angle to use there. The fault code readout will tell the tale anyway...so just UN-shark the car...being as careful as you were when you installed the software.

If the fault light is caused by your gas cap, or the oil filler cap or the like, it will likely reset, but can sometimes take several days to do so. If it is the ubiquitous 02 sensor, or any number of other things which won't clear automatically, service department will need to correct the problem.

Incidentally, even if it IS the 02 sensor, or some other sensor, it can reset itself, and then come on again. Mine played that game -- off and on -- for three weeks or so, and through four gas refills -- so I was pretty sure it was not the gas cap or anything like that. After the fourth or fifth time the light came BACK on I took it in, and it was, as suspected, the 02 sensor.

Good luck

Terry
