Until I saw comments about the duster on this board, I'd never even heard of anyone wrapping it in newspaper. I've had a few of the dusters, and all I've ever done is let it air out for 24 hrs or so before using it the first time, which IIRC is exactly what the instructions say to do. In fact, I forgot to even do that once and everything was fine. As others have said, you might notice some of the wax after the first few cleanings (particularly on black) but it's very minimal, and you'd almost have to get down close to even notice it. It washes right off with a normal washing and it doesn't do anything negative to your clear coat or whatever. And also as others have mentioned, it really does seem to work better the dirtier it gets.

Honestly, this sucker works best at its absolute worst, looks-wise, anyway. They say 48 hours prep in a newspaper to start. I say, two weeks, totally wrapped in the Sunday Times. This thing sweats wax. Really.
On the other hand, if you can bear it, just keep using it. If you don't mind washing the car at least once a month, the paraffin left over washes out, easy.
Besides, and it's true, the dirtier this thing gets, the better it seems to work. Honest.

ps. I cleaned one once and it became totally useless.
Did I do an bad thing by NOT letting it sit in the newspaper? Running out to buy another.....no matter what....our other wheels need one each...these dusters are about the best thing since sliced bread. (honestly...I never thought I would be dusting a vehicle(s) before driving)
I was amazed at the rsults!
