trucks can not see you when you are beside them, and their tires are as tall as our cars. Either be in front of them or behind them. Wait until you can completely pass them- *especially in convoys* when you feel like you have to follow the leader. *Make sure you don't trap another car beside a trailer*.

The rule is, if you can't see their mirror, they can't see you.

Give them a break, they'll do the same for you.

I hope everyone of you that are heading for HC will arrive
safe and sound. I am a daily traveler of the roads and
highways in Houston...around 2-300 miles a day. I am 55
and have not had any wrecks in 39 years! (yes, I know; the
next one will kill me)
Rule #1. allow a safety escape/envelope around you at all
times. (if other cars go crazy, you know you will not be one
of the victims)
Rule #2. pass only on the left.....the sucker in the
middle that goes to the right...is often the victim of those
trying to go left!!
Rule#3. Allow yourself and other drivers the 1-2-3 count
at all lights. It sure as heck saves your BUTT if someone runs the RED light.
rule#3. Always signal your intention to turn or change lanes....even the crazy drivers will let you change lanes within inches of their front bumper! (Tail-gating has once become normal way of driving with the younger drivers)..they just drive that way....no ill intention!
Rule #4...probably not the last but most important: drive with the intention of getting there alive and don't get distracted by radios, controls, a/c,etc. If you can't do all the above by feel, let your passenger do it for you.
Keep your eyes and Mind on Driving. Period!
---Have a safe trip....and if you doubt my wisdom, come down to Houston town and spend a day with me in a car. You
will be amazed and you will most likely be safe riding as a
passenger!
