After I dropped Cargogal off at the airport, I headed toward the Dragon for another couple of runs. I took several back roads to get there, each of which were almost as fun as the Dragon itself. What a morning! I ran the Dragon North to South, South to North, and then North to South. There were quite a few motorcycles, but I was there early enough that traffic wasn't too bad. I was quite proud that for much of one of my runs, it was a Motorcyle that was slowing me down! Not once did I have someone run up on me from behind. I guess I did okay.
After getting my fill of the Dragon, I began heading home. My plan was to drive as long as I could and then find a place to stay. Well, 17 1/2 hours of driving later, I found a place to stay: Home. I arrived at about 1 am central time. During that time, I only stopped for gas. Nothing else but the Z working its way through the roads back to home. I forgot how comfortable one's own bed can be!
For a few minutes, I was actually tired of driving. This morning, I awoke to find beautiful blue skies calling out to me. I can't believe it, but I am actually going for a drive! There is something wrong with that, something very, very wrong with that. But what the hell!
To everyone I met at HC, it was a wonderful time. To those who couldn't make it, hopefully we can meet next year. And to those still on the road, drive safely. Holiday traffic will surely be busy, and I saw more cops on the road yesterday than I knew existed!
Off to the twisties. . .
