I got my PC buffer from an online source. I went to the local Lowes and got a 6 in. sanding pad and a latch-n-loop kit. Glued the L-n-L disk on the sanding pad and attached Griots pad and viola!. I think Griots and Meguiars backing plate is 5 in., I have a Meguairs and I prefer my own. I agree that Griots has the best pads and they work with the setup I made. Total out of pocket expenses including 2 Griots pads came to less that $150.00
