I also have a problem with the filter foam contacting the heat shield ("00"2.3)the difference being that it's the filter's foam element that makes contact. Okay. So I put in the Conforti CAI about 3 wks ago and am very happy with it. Today I opened the hood an noticed that on the left side of the heat shield, the air filter is touching the shield and both the shield and the filter are covered with a brown sticky residue! Is the oil from the filter melting/disspolving the shield? Has anyone ever heard of this before? I've trie to move the filter over but I can't make it stop contacting the shield. HELP!!!
