After some installation and reinstallation I went out for a drive. There aren't too many twisties here in South Florida but there are many bumpy roads. The car definitely felt tighter, almost like it was new again. Took it over a really bumpy road that used to make me cringe if I went fast and now the car felt real tight and planted. The steering felt quicker and yes the rear end felt different almost like it was connected to the steering wheel. Can't wait for the next autocross in three weeks.
Now the bad part. I had to used the square spacer and the round spacer plus another washer on one side to get the buttstrut to clear the exhaust. I a little over 4" of clearance in the rear and now it had been reduced to 3.5". I tried at first to let the exhaust touch the buttstrut but it really resonates through the car and will probably wear out the exhaust. It will probalby fit better with the stock exhaust and definitely with the stock ride height.
I wish there were stock ride height stiffer springs available. If I had the original 245's in the rear the car would not be driveable. The 265's raise the rear a bit. I may buy 235/45's in the front to raise the car a little more.
Overall I am happy with the chassis stiffening, but real wary about hitting something. I have two speed bumps when I leave my townhouse development and at least it clears those. One good thing is that I can now take it off in less than 10 minutes without jacking up the car. If it gets to be a problem then I will use it for autocrosses only. When I put on my autocross rims I will just put on the buttstrut also.
