Inspection II Question (archive)

My '97 1.9 is coming due for its first inspection II - probably in the next couple of months.

I'm interested in doing the Inspection myself, but wonder if my lack of equipment and experience working on cars would lead me to perform an inadequate service. I have the Bentley's Z3 manual. I do not have a way to raise the car, but would consider having the oil changed at a place where I take it and would then do everything else myself.

Under these circumstances, could I perform the remainder of the inspection II without raising the car?
