I don't think the exact torque really matters. I've been changing my own oil on my 96 1.9 for years now and have never had any problems at all. (without a torque meter) you can pick up an oil/inspection reset tool as well from ebay or peake research for under $50.



I am thinking about getting the topsider and changing
my own oil in my 99 MZ3. How accurate does the amount of
torque applied to the oil filter cap need to be when replacing it? Must it be 25 nm, or does it not really matter. I do not own a torque meter. Thanks!
