If I may...:

(1) Don't even start the AOL crap. It's worn out, and it only serves to immediately distance yourself from some.
(2) I understand about the off-topic posts, they can become tiresome quick. But if it's something new to you, I'm guessing you don't have much experience with boards, newsgroups or mailing lists. It happens *everywhere*. It's not unique to this place.
(3) As far as the flaming of new people, I imagine that if you could go back and find all the instances you're speaking of, you'd find that there are only a half dozen or so at most that do the flaming or are generally rude and/or smartass. Considering there's probably a few hundred people that post or have posted on this board, that small little group isn't really representative of the rest of us.
(4) I'm not sure I understand the clique thing, but if there is one, I'm not a member. I think perhaps what you're seeing are just some people that have known each other around here for quite a while, and in many cases know each other (or have at least met each other) IRL. I think you're just overestimating what you're seeing.

My .02 worth,
Rusty

I have had my Z for almost a year and found the board to have a lot of good information. I attended homecoming and think my Z3 and BMW are the greatest. However all the personal junk that is posted here is getting ridiculous. Wedding rings, cat cruelty to name just a few. The polls are amusing -take it or scroll by. The flaming of the new folk who dare to respond or ask a question that might be archieved. I'm glad to know so many of you Z3 owners have formed this invincible click. I hope I never get in the click. Of course the click won't read this. To the others can we form a true Z3 board with Z3 information only? The others can go chat on AOL!
