Non HK Subwoofer Question (archive)

Unlike most folks, I have the regular, plain ol vanilla BMW sound system and I'm having the wonderful subwoofer buzz that's driving me nutso. I pulled off the cover and there's no horn, just a relatively small speaker.....that buzzez intermittenly. Any thoughts, suggestions for a fix? BTW, this is a lease, so am not sure I want to make any serious modifications at this point that might void my lease terms. Many thanks
