quite often when i cruise around on my ducati 900 (which is slower off the line than most hard-core jap 600's), i just get lazy. you get used to reducing all traffic to small dots in your mirrors with but a half-hearted twist of the throttle. on occasion i'd pull up next to a performance car that is in the mood for a drag race, and just do the easy-on-the-clutch start with a slow throttle roll-on to keep the front wheel down. if the car has enough torque (like the ///M coupe), it would sometimes pull away off the line, at which point i'd find it too much of a bother to do anything but keep up... more out to amuse myself than prove anything. and if a cop happens to be nearby, the guy ahead is more likely to get nailed. i am sure these scenarios happen all the time...

to put it into another perspective, a fully-loaded honda goldwing luxo-barge bike with lazy-boy leather couches and a passenger onboard has about the same power-to-weight as a SUPERCHARGED ///M coupe - to say nothing of any bike with sporting pretentions.

i've not yet 'drag-raced' my ///M coupe against a bike, but if i were ever to win such a contest, i'd just smile and thank the biker for his/her charity :)
