: In a good way or bad ?

Good. So far in my life I've owned:

'62 MGA
'75 Fiat X1/9
'73 Datsun 240Z
'88 Porsche 924S
'99 M Coupe

The only one that was close to the BMW in power was the Datsun, and that one was hampered by an automatic transmission. While the others were all a blast to drive, the Coupe is the only one that had enough power that I could get into trouble purely from HP alone. That part is keeping me on my toes.

One other thing; I have spun the 924S at least once every day I've had it out at the track (though some of those were pretty minor spins or off-road excursions.) With the coupe yesterday I overcooked a few corners, blew the occational apex or entry, but, even with the traction control off, the car never really got ahead of me. In part because I'm still learning its limits (which are higher than the 924 in almost every way) and in part because the tires didn't allow me to get too silly. And because I'm still a little intimidated by the car.

The next time I get it out on the track is going to be the dangerous time, I suspect. I'll be out there thinking I now know the car, and it will surprise me. I just hope not too badly...
