In C&D tests the Z3 Coupe had better road holding and brakeing then the M Coupe. This most likely due to a a 200+ lb (don't know exactly) weight advantage on the Z3. (0.91G vs 0.87G)?? Something along those lines

It also stopped 70-0 in around 20 feet less, surely also due to weight.

In a slalom the M Coupe would be faster. In any reasonable contest, as dp pointed out with equal drivers, the M would be faster, but I bet a better driver in a 2.8 Coupe vs the M would have a good shot, except in a drag race.

As for mods, if I had an M Coupe I would just spend my money on a drivers school, that way you'll have a better chance of beating me in a race against my unmodified Z3 Coupe 2.8. :)

: I don't get it. I thought the M had the better suspension and brakes. Why would a Z outclass an M? It just doesnt make sense, it's like saying a 328is is better than an M-3. Does the Z coupe have the E36 suspension? I know the M has the E30 suspension, which pissed me off because I was misled by my dealer. #2 Dinan Chip or Jim C?
