To think any high-performance automobile firm has set aside ANY budget to silence customers about flaws in their engineering OR resultant crashes of their machines from driver stupidity is far fetched, if not completely insane.

I think we are seeing an off-balanced ratio of "many challenging cars : not enough sophisticated drivers". If Ferrari made 60,000 360 Modenas a year at $30,000 a pop (not ever bloody likely, thank goodness) we'd see more doofuses planting them into phone-poles, as many people believe "a high performance car will mask and/or eliminate my driving mistakes". As good as automotive engineering has become, no one (yet) can fully eliminate the constants of the laws of physics a bad driver can unleash on any road on any given day.

And, by the way, the greatest performance 4wd system/car yet has to be the Lancia Delta Integrale series. Period. :)
