Stereo amplifier questions - Ron? (archive)

I've searched the archives as well as Ron Stygar's site but haven't had any luck. I'd like to install a better amp (PPI or Soundstream are my first choices) in my '00 M Coupe.

I'd like to use the stock wiring without damaging the connectors. Can anyone provide wiring information (pin outs from the connector) or a source for an adapter? Also can anyone tell me if the output from the head unit is line level? Finally, has anyone measured the space available where the factory amp / cd changer rack is located? I'm planning on devoting the entire space to the amp, but I still don't know if I can fit a decent 4 channel or 5 channel amp in there.
