I'm leaning towards replacing the speakers and adding an amplifier. I've started talking to the audio shops and would like some advice. Everyone seems to recommend the MB Quart speakers. So far the two amps recommended; Soundstream 75x4 and Eclipse 50 x4. I'm also trying to decide on whether to keep the factory amp and just power the sub or buy a 5 channel amp.

My stereo really hits...it all depends on what you want.
Looking back, I should never have upgraded to the stock HK CD player. I just bought a new head unit, removed the stock Amp, and bought all new equipment.
I had a guy take out the plastic enclosure for the sub and build me a box with a 5 channel Sony ES amp. Included in the box is a 10 inch sub which really hits hard. It only took up about 20% of my trunk space, but it sounds like a dream.
Plus, the new sony ES matches the red/black interior of my car.
