Coupe handling normally 'twitchy'? (archive)

I drove a used 99 M Coupe today and had a great time. 3rd gear is a blast! I did notice, however, that it was a little twitchy on the highway, as if it wanted the whole car to follow imperfections in the road surface (95 in Ct is rough). I've noticed tires doing this on my other cars, but it never made the whole car move before. I noticed similar behavior a few months ago when I drove another Coupe. Is this something 'normal', meaning is the Coupe really sensitive to steering and road feedback, or does this car have an alignment problem or maybe uneven tire wear? The back tires were new and the fronts looked like they were new as well. Otherwise the car was great (a few chips etc but nothing major) and a sweet price, so I might buy it next week (just need to sell my Corrado first). Thanks and I look forward to joining the M club!
