All kidding aside, I was at the Ultimate Streetcar Challege put on by Sports Compact Car and their publisher. But boy am I TIRED of seeing Civics and Type "R"s all over the place!!!!!! No WONDER why I'll never subscribe to that mag!

But the AutoX that was part of the event was interesting, but only a 30 second course in a small area. Three drivers I know (from SCCA) kicked ass there! Tom Smith (LA SCCA) took 1st in his GS Type R, Mark Allen (last year GS SCCA National Champ) took 2nd in his supercharged Type R, and Hung Jehn kicked major ass in his ASP Gen3 RX7TT!!!! There was also a 840CSi there, as well as Mr M Coupe from the board here, who I am now VERY sure I will be seeing at the next AutoX events here :) And was his M Coupe NICE! Loved those HUGE dual exhausts, and the sound was MUSIC to my ears compared to those boring VTech's!!!

Didn't get there for the car show, but Mark Allen told me he got 2nd place in his Type R in it, and even got 2nd in the drag race part, so he might be the overall big buck winner!

As for the drags, well, boring! Nearly ALL some form of Honda's! But I have to say, there were a few Civic H/B's that were unGodly FAST! And I was there long enough to see a Gen3 RX7TT loose it and slam/flip on the end of the strip. Seems to my eyes that a lot of these guys have no experience at this, and ARE a danger to all! Hell, they didn;t even require the street car drivers to even wear helmets!!!!! !!!!!!
