the tires are very good in the dry - vast improvement over the dunlops. in the wet they are a bit scary, though. gotta be right there to catch the back - dunlops are better when it rains. i've not auto-x'd them, but did have them on the track for club days. i was at some point running right behind another M coupe - he had 032R's in the same size and shocks/springs, while i had the kd's, stock suspension and a passenger. we were dead even for several clean laps when traffic was not a factor. that's about all the basis i have for comparisons with other tires. i only have about 3K miles on the tires, so can't say much about longevity (except that one tire developed cracks all around the edge of the tread after 1K miles, it was replaced by tire rack for nearly full credit). personally, if i were to do it again i'd go with pilot sports or s02pp for better all-around usability. but for you california guys that may not be that much of an issue ;)
hope this is useful.
