it's so ethnocentric to complain about the price of gasoline while our european counterparts pay quadruple the amount. it's so typical that we americans somehow deserve better than the rest of the world.
personally, i could care less if it's high gas prices. in fact, the day gas prices go above 2 or 3 dollars a gallon, i might go out and buy a v12 motor to celebrate the fact that reality finally hits our country. it will make people think twice about stupid inefficient sport utes. it will drive innovation such as the new variable compression saab engine. it will also innovate hybrid technology.
you know what GM thinks and why they're engines are so inefficient? because their corporate policy is to soak up the profits on vehicles while the going is good and buyers are "insensitive" to relatively inefficient engines.
please spare we motoring enthusiasts this activist mentality. if you care about gasoline prices or the environment that much, please post me a reply about how much fun it is to drive your toyota echo or your honda hybrid car.
