Higher gas prices aren't going to make you, me or anyone else on this board drive/pollute less. Just the "lower class" folk who can't afford to ante up for the higher prices. Implicit in your line of reasoning is that those who won't be able to afford higher gas prices don't deserve to drive. Then, conveniently for those of who can afford it, there will be less crowding and pollution. Lots of us wish gas was $.50 so that everyone could afford to drive as much as they please. Perhaps you would like the price of gas to be $5.00 so you could have the freeway to yourself. Next, let's eliminate all recreational driving and replace your coupe with an EV1. No, we won't replace your coupe, somebody else's. Right?
Maybe you should run for vice president. =P
