Hello all. I just took delivery of my '00 M coupe last month. I posted last week and stated that I had a loud rattle coming from the right rear suspension. Based upon archive info, I suspected rear shock mounts. Local dealer took a look this afternoon. Turns out the selling dealer left in the extra shipping bump stops!!! Apparently my hard driving of the car cracked the bump stop in the right rear and that is what I was hearing.
The fact that the dealer forgot to remove them during the PDI is a little disconcerting, but the real killer is that I had gotten totally comfortable with the super-stiff, super-short travel suspension. I took the car out tonight and now it feels SOFT! This thing squats like mad under heavy acceleration. No wonder people are recommending changing the shocks/springs.
Anyways, thought I'd share that. I found it interesting.
Also, does anyone have the part #'s for the chrome interior door handles, p.brake button and door locks? My dealer is a little confused.
Oh yeah, one more: anyone know if the x-brace buffer stop works on the M coupe?
Thanks!
